Praggnanandhaa Wins Over Fabiano Caruana At Norway Chess 2024

It is a landmark day for Bharatiya chess, as Praggnanandhaa wins over 2nd Chess World Champion Fabiano Caruana. The 18-year Chess prodigy R. Praggnanandhaa knocked down 2nd ranked Fabiano Caruana in World's Chess in the 5th round of the Norway Chess Championship at Stavanger.

On 30th May 2024, the teenage -legend defeated the world's first-ranked Magnus Carlsen in classical chess at the Norway Chess Tournament in the 3rd round. This implies that the legendary Praggnanandhaa has edged over the world's first ranker Magnus Carlsen and the world's second rank holder Fabiano Caruana in the same event of classical event.


Pragg's victory was even more thrilling as his sister Vaishali became a pioneer of women's standings after she won against Anna Muzychuk in Armageddon.


Fabiano Caruana made a flawed move to push his king towards the faulty square with 66...Kf6 rather than playing Kf7.


Bharat's teen legend sharply spotted 69...Nxh6 and eventually won against Caruana.


Pragg's win took him to lead the world's ratings by making a mark in the top 10 of the FIDE live ratings.


Even more impressive is that Bharat's Chess teen legend praggnanandhaa's sister Vaishali has led the global rankings post 5 rounds in the field which had Chess Prominent figure and reigning world champion Ju Wenjun.


Bharat teen chess legend has joined the League of Top 10, which featured Arjun Eriagisi and D Gukesh, marking the iconic featuring of 3 Bharatiyas joining the Top 10 league for the first time.


The esteemed chess player and 5-time world champion marked the 11th spot of the live ratings.


Arjun Erigaisi is the 4th ranked Bharatiya to make it to the FIDE ratings,the Chess world championship challenger Gukesh is rated 7th in line with the live ratings and R. Praggnanandhaa touched the 10th rating as per the live ratings.


The published ratings are disclosed on the 1st of every month. The live ratings resonate with the frequent changes as always.


The International Chess Federation{FIDE} regulates the International Chess Competition. FIDE publishes the rating lists for instance :

->Top 100 Juniors

->Top 100 Girls

->Global Countries rankings according to the average rating of the top 10 payers and top 10 female players


Hours after Pragg's triumph, Arjun Erigasi edged over IM Loic Travadon intriguingly in quick 14 moves. Arjun's win at the French team championship on Sunday i.e. 2nd June 2024 was 4th win on the trot.


In essence, we can say that Pragyananandhaa's win has made Bharat and every Bharatiya proud.
